after finally addressing the question of whether she would be attending this
year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Much to the disappointment of many, the
35-year-old superstar confirmed that she will not be making an
appearance at the ceremony on September 7.
Swifties had been buzzing with
speculation, with some hoping she might surprise them with a performance from
her record-breaking Eras Tour. But according to E! News, the
singer has chosen to sit this one out, in part because of her fiancé Travis
Kelce’s NFL season commitments, as well as her own busy schedule promoting
her upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl.
While some fans quickly defended her
decision, understanding the balancing act between her personal and professional
life, others couldn’t hide their disappointment. Social media lit up with
reactions—one fan simply wrote, “WHAT NO,” while another lamented, “Whyyyyy.”
A third joked, “yes girl give us nothing,” while others pointed out that
with only one nomination this year, her absence was understandable.
“Cause she’s busy after announcing her
album and everything,” one fan reasoned, showing support for Swift’s choice to
