Taylor Swift and Ice Spice first struck up a friendship in 2023 when the pop icon invited the rising rapper to collaborate on the remix of Karma.

Now, the Barbie World hitmaker, 25, is opening up about what she admires most about the 14-time Grammy winner. In her recent NYLON cover story, Ice Spice recalled a piece of advice from Swift that continues to resonate with her.

“The thing about Taylor is that she keeps it so real,” she said. “One of the biggest things I always think about is something Taylor told me: ‘As long as you keep making music, everything’s going to be fine.’”

She explained that Swift’s words return to her often, especially during moments of doubt or creative block. “Whenever we link up, it could just be about the food we’re eating or whatever’s going on,” she shared. “But when I’m feeling less confident, those words stand out to me. She said that to me a few years ago, and it still sticks.”

Their bond has also played out on stage and in the spotlight. Ice Spice joined Swift during her Eras Tour stop in New Jersey to perform their Karma remix, and the two were later spotted together at the Super Bowl, cheering for Swift’s fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce.
